Undertaking cutting-edge minerals processing  R&D to support COB projects and contract testwork

Examples include:

Cathode Precursor Production Pilot Plant (Western Australia): Providing cobalt sulphate for trial pCAM & CAM production

Graphite R&D Program: co-development program with CSIRO to design and validate a process to recover and purify graphite from battery black mass to battery-grade specifications.

Development and optimisation thermal decomposition of pyrite: Sustainable Minerals Institute from the University of Queensland and ARC Training Centre in Critical Resources

Co-operative Research Centre Grant: This funding enabled partnerships with the Co-operative Research Centre, University of New South Wales, Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANTSO), and the Anergy Group to employ three post-graduate researchers for over 3 years to investigate thermal decomposition of pyrite. As part of our partnership with the ARC Training Centre in Critical Resources for the future (CCRF), COB recently hosted a team from the Sustainable Minerals Institute (SMI) from the University of Queensland.
