A night with the stars in Broken Hill

The Broken Hill Cobalt Project was proud to again support the Perfect Light Film Festival, which provides the local community with free film-making workshops and an entertaining short film festival attended by guest judges.

This event was held over 3 days from 22nd - 24th March this year, with the highlight being a free short film night, located back in the open air at Sturt Park. This community event is just part of a weekend of free activities, which also includes workshops involving experts from the Australian film industry.

Steve Bastoni, a well-known Australian actor and Perfect Light Film Festival Director, has been committed for many years to celebrating Broken Hill’s iconic movie-making credentials through this event. The support he achieves from a range of sponsors enables the festival to be offered free to the local community.

Steve says: “We were delighted with the 800 strong turnout for the 6th Perfect Light Film Festival in Broken Hill and the quality of the films was outstanding. It was wonderful to see the event back at Sturt Park and the local audience really embraced the carnival atmosphere. The festival continues to be an important event on the regional arts calendar and that is made possible by the generosity of sponsors.”
