Cobalt Blue is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Mount Isa City Council (MICC) to assess solutions to the looming sulphuric acid supply shortage in North West Queensland.

Market Update: Iwatani Corporation to partner on Cobalt-Nickel Refinery
Cobalt Blue is delighted to name Iwatani Corporation as our potential partner (subject to binding agreement) in developing the Cobalt-Nickel Refinery Project – to be located in the Kwinana Industrial Area, 30km south of Perth in Western Australia.

Strategic Update: COB to Progress Cobalt-Nickel Refinery Project in 2024
The Refinery is a proposed large-scale, cobalt-nickel operation representing Australia’s first cobalt refinery that will produce high-quality, battery-grade cobalt sulphate that is intended for IRA-compliant markets. It will be among the first large Allied Nation investments in cobalt refining for decades. The Refinery is expected to establish COB as an early entrant into the emerging midstream segment of the Allied Battery Supply Chain.
Flin Flon Tailings Test Work: Positive Results
Cobalt Blue Holdings Limited (COB) and Hudbay Minerals Inc. previously announced a test work co-operation agreement examining the use of COB technology to treat Hudbay’s Flin Flon tailings. COB is pleased to announce we have completed preliminary test work with positive results warranting further evaluation in the next stage.
COB - Finalised Mining Lease Application Lodged
Mining Lease Application 634 (‘MLA634’) has been submitted and complements our earlier application (‘MLA614’). Collectively with existing Mining Leases, MLA614 and MLA634 cover the area required for development of the Broken Hill Cobalt Project (‘BHCP’).

Flin Flon Tailings Testwork Agreement with Hudbay Minerals Inc.
Cobalt Blue Holdings Limited (“COB”) is pleased to announce that it has entered into a testwork co-operation agreement with Hudbay Minerals Inc. with respect to Hudbay’s wholly-owned Flin Flon tailings storage facility located in the Province of Manitoba, Canada.

Demonstration Plant - Ore Extraction Completed
Commenting on recent events, Cobalt Blue’s Chief Executive Officer, Joe Kaderavek said: “Strong progress allowed us to extract further ore for better overall representativity. The completion of the mining, and now crushing, sets up Demonstration Plant operations in coming months”.
COB: BHCP Analyst Site Visit 21 June 2022 - Presentation
Cobalt Blue hosted a site visit at the Broken Hill Cobalt Project that provided an update on the progress of the Demonstration Plant. Our guests were provided with a tour of the crushing and concentrator circuits and had the opportunity to walk ~80m into the underground decline. They were also guided through our processing plant and sulphate lab.
