The event formed part of the Critical Minerals Working Group, established under the Australia–Japan Critical Minerals Partnership launched in October 2022.
In his presentation, Dr Tong highlighted the growing strategic alliance between Australia and Japan in the critical minerals sector, emphasising the importance of developing midstream processing supply chains to strengthen security, sustainability, and mutual economic benefit.
