COB has entered into a non-binding agreement with Iwatani Australia Pty Ltd (IWA) as a partner to advance the Kwinana Cobalt Refinery. IWA is a wholly owned subsidiary of Iwatani Corporation, a leading Japanese multinational company that specialises in the production and trading of commodities. A binding agreement with IWA will flow from FID.
Glencore
COB and Glencore have entered into a binding cobalt hydroxide supply agreement covering production from Glencore’s two operations in the DRC. The agreement secures a minimum of 50% of KCR’s feedstock requirements for the first three years of commercial operations, providing strong underpinning supply security and reinforcing the strategic partnership.
